Having stayed at the Shangri-La on Tayuan Road before, I decided to revisit with my whole family during the National Day holiday this time. It certainly didn't disappoint! The room was spacious, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering panoramic views of Lion Hill and the city. The bedding was soft and comfortable, and the soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep for the entire family.
The hotel amenities are perfect for family trips. The heated swimming pool has a children's play area, so swimming in this weather isn't chilly at all. The gym is well-equipped, so both adults and children can find ways to relax.

The location of the hotel is really good. There is a very nice street behind the hotel. By about 25 minutes of walking you can visit Pingjian road on of the most famous streets in Suzhou. You will see there what you want of China. Two classical gardens are also near the hotel you can have a walk or take the subway to go there. To visit Shantong street and Jinji lake you need to take the subway or take a taxi. There are a lot of restaurants near the hotel. The indoor pool was also great, with a maximum depth of 1.4 meters, making it very reassuring to swim in. I booked this hotel last week, and I stumbled upon it by chance. I thought it would be a very ordinary old hotel, but I was shocked as soon as I walked in. The facade is incredibly grand, truly on par with established five-star hotels.
I arrived at the hotel before noon, thinking I wouldn't be able to check in, but to my surprise, the front desk enthusiastically informed me that there was a room available, and they processed my check-in right away. They even upgraded me to a business floor.
The hotel has three elevators, which are very efficient. I stayed on the 10th floor, and it was incredibly quiet. I slept soundly until morning. The room's curtains also blocked out light very well, and the room itself was large and spacious.
There's a laundry room and a gym on the 5th and 4th floors. I have a small suggestion: it would be great to add two more washing machines to the laundry room, as there were quite a lot of people doing laundry on the weekend, and I had to wait a long time without getting a turn. However, this wouldn't affect someone staying for just a day or two.

I was lucky enough to stay in a Ferris Wheel View Executive Suite for 3 days and 2 nights during the National Day holiday, and it was a very enjoyable trip!~
1️⃣ **Location:**
The hotel's location is super convenient! It's close to Exits 3 and 4 of Times Square Metro Station. Across the street, there's also Shin Kong Place and Eslite Spectrum.
2️⃣ **Room Experience:**
True to its 110 square meters, the living room is really huge.
I especially loved the bedroom; it's practically a 180-degree view. Lying on the left side, you can see the Ferris wheel and the traffic, and lying on the right, you can see Shin Kong Place and the Gate of the Orient – absolutely fantastic!~
The minibar's drinks and capsule coffee machine were good 😌 and they provided plenty of Nongfu Spring water. During turn-down service, they didn't proactively offer to refill the water, but the attendant noticed two or three bottles had been consumed and immediately helped replenish them. Thank you 🙏
3️⃣ **Club Lounge Afternoon Tea and Dinner:**
This trip was primarily a staycation, so we mostly ate at the hotel. I was initially worried that dinner wouldn't be enough, but the dishes were plentiful and varied, and they were refilled very quickly! The menu was different on both days and very rich. The slightly peppercorn-flavored 'shui zhu niu rou' (boiled beef) and the very sour tomato vegetable soup were absolutely delicious 🤤🤤
The overall design of the Club Lounge is also very beautiful. If you arrive ten minutes early for meals, you can usually get a window seat, offering a distant view of Jinji Lake at night. I was even lucky enough to capture the Gate of the Orient during a pink sunset!~

The staff are all very friendly and greet you with a smile. When going down the elevator, they intentionally didn't share it with guests, which was a very considerate and humbling detail.
Check-in only took a few minutes, and red date tea was offered nearby. I was unsure if the Executive Suite included breakfast at 2F, so I asked, and to my surprise, the front desk staff immediately offered it as a complimentary extra. I forgot to check his name tag, but I'm truly grateful!~

The Lounge: As the hotel's Western restaurant and bar, classic dishes like the Tomahawk steak, Australian Wagyu tartare, and black truffle pasta are all excellent. The freshly mixed cocktails are also well worth trying, especially when enjoyed on the terrace as the sun sets in the evening, or while listening to the wind and admiring the moon after dark. Such an atmosphere is undoubtedly something to be experienced rather than described.
The Living Room: Specializes in afternoon tea and light meals. Being a Park Hyatt establishment, it naturally doesn't disappoint. The soft texture of the red bean cheesecake, the smooth creaminess of the strawberry cream cake, and the rich aroma of the cappuccino all effortlessly help you forget the pressures of work and the fatigue of daily life, allowing you to immerse yourself in rare relaxation and comfort.
Excellent Service: That's simply what it is – wonderful service. Park Hyatt Suzhou's service embodies the Park Hyatt philosophy of prioritizing guests, often providing unexpected surprises through meticulous details. For instance, Xizhou Xuan will help guests with birthday table arrangements and provide exquisite birthday treats; The Living Room will proactively help guests warm up their food separately and multiple times based on their arrival order; the front office will prepare delicate welcome gifts (fruits, desserts, red wine) according to the theme of the guests' stay; and housekeeping will even proactively provide laundry detergent based on guests' potential laundry needs.
Special thanks to the hotel's management and operations team for their attentive care and consideration during my family's stay. Had a wonderful 3-day, 2-night trip with my good friends and their families.
Regarding service: Our butler, Cindy, was always online and ready to help. The engineering uncle braved the heavy rain to set up the projector for the kids and greeted us warmly the next day. Xu Chenhao from the activities department was a warm and engaging young man, teaching us kayaking techniques, sharing the resort's development story, and taking beautiful photos for every family. The children's club staff were also very welcoming, inviting us to try out various fitness equipment.
Regarding cleanliness: Housekeeping was prompt and thorough.
Regarding dining: The Chinese restaurant was quite good. However, breakfast was a bit mediocre with limited options. By 10 AM, they almost stopped restocking food.
Suggestion: Upon check-in, we were offered an upgrade from 2 rooms to 3 rooms, but then told the third room was locked, effectively making it no upgrade at all. They only reluctantly opened it after we complained. I suggest training the front desk staff on what a room upgrade actually means. It might have been better not to offer an upgrade at all if they weren't clear on it.From€184

Our stay at the Kempinski Hotel Suzhou on Jinji Lake was incredibly pleasant. The hotel boasts unparalleled views of Jinji Lake from the moment you step in. The facilities are excellent, including a heated swimming pool and a children's play area, making it perfect for both leisure and family getaways. This is an older 5-star hotel located in the old town. While the facilities are a bit dated, the service is still excellent. The hotel breakfast offers a great variety, and both the swimming pool and gym are very good. Since I was traveling with my elderly family members to Suzhou, I made a few requests when booking the room, and the front desk went above and beyond to assist us, which I greatly appreciate 🙏. The room was excellent! We got a free upgrade to a deluxe large room. Although the hotel is a bit older, the facilities are incredibly well-maintained and very clean. I feel it's the best-maintained and most welcoming among all the older five-star hotels I've stayed in. Many small details also reflect the meticulousness of Japanese management.
The room layout was well-designed. The walk-in closet had automatic sensor lighting. All switches were updated to touch controls. Plus, the room had windows that could open, including transom windows, which were safe for both children and guests. Although there were a few fewer outlets, it's understandable given the hotel's age.
The hotel's location is superb. It's at the intersection of two metro lines (Line 1 and 3). In the morning, you can go hiking on Lion Mountain. Lion Hill Plaza has a sunken outdoor music spot where you can request and listen to songs, creating a relaxed atmosphere. But the best part was the corner glass in the room, offering views of Lion Mountain, the museum, and the science and technology museum. My son watched the light show and waterfall from the floor-to-ceiling window every night. He was so captivated, he didn't want to leave after three days.

The weather is getting colder, so it's time to soak in the hot springs! The hotel faces Taihu Lake, the air is fresh, and the view is amazing.
