How to Join FREE Shenzhen Tour

This is hands down the easiest way to explore Shenzhen in 1 day tour—Trip.com runs a free guided tour for Bao’an Airport entry travelers. No pre-registration, no hidden fees, just first-come first-served seats.

✅ Schedule: Departs daily at 09:00 (GMT+8), ends at 15:00 at Shenzhen Talent Park. Important note: No return transport to the airport is provided—plan your way back with extra buffer time.

✅ What’s included: Free shuttle bus from the airport to attractions, bilingual (English/Mandarin) professional guide, and entry tickets to scenic spots (where applicable).

✅ Eligibility: All international transit passengers with valid visa-free approval/transit documents. Kids under 12 must travel with an adult.

✅ Tour Route & Must-See Highlights (tested by me, these spots are worth your time):

  • Lianhuashan Park: A calm urban green space with unbeatable Shenzhen skyline photo ops. 10:00–11:00 is the sweet spot—soft sunlight, minimal crowds, perfect for shots.
  • Nantou Ancient City: A 1,700-year-old town where traditional Chinese architecture mixes with trendy boutiques and cafes. Don’t miss local snacks: braised pork ribs rice and coconut jelly are absolute must-tries. The free Nantou Ancient City Museum is great for a quick history dive (closed on Mondays).
  • Shenzhen Talent Park: The tour finishes here, with panoramic views of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and Shenzhen’s futuristic skyline. Spend 15–20 mins strolling the waterfront before heading back to the airport.

Shenzhen Layover - Visa & Transit Policy (TWOV)

Shenzhen Layover - Visa & Transit Policy (TWOV)

Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport

You can leave the airport during your layover—this policy applies to Shenzhen, and it’s one of the most flexible transit rules in China, letting you explore Shenzhen and the whole of Guangdong Province visa-free for 10 days. I’ve used this policy multiple times, and it’s straightforward as long as you meet the requirements.

  • Eligible nationalities: Citizens of 55 countries (EU nations, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Singapore, Thailand, and most Southeast Asian countries included).
  • 240-hour window calculation: Starts at 00:00 (GMT+8) the day after your arrival. For example: Arrive on Jan 1 → your 10-day window kicks off on Jan 2 (gives you a full 10+ days to explore).
  • Required documents: A valid passport + an onward ticket to a third country/region (a return ticket to your home country does NOT qualify if it’s the same as your arrival destination).
  • Entry ports: Shenzhen Bao’an Airport (SZX), Shekou Ferry Terminal, and all major ports in Guangdong Province.
  • Entry process: Follow the Visa-Free Transit signs to the dedicated immigration counter (T3 International Arrivals Hall) → hand in your documents → finish inspection (5–10 mins; 15+ mins during peak hours) → collect luggage and go.

What to Do during Shenzhen Layover (7h, 12h, 24h)

What to Do during Shenzhen Layover (7h, 12h, 24h)

The best activities during your Shenzhen layover depend on how much time you have. Below are tailored itineraries that balance exploration and convenience, so that you have enough buffer time for return travel and airport security checks.

  • 7-Hour Layover: The full Shenzhen Express tour fits perfectly here. Time breakdown: 08:30 (arrive at Trip.com counter) → 09:00 (tour departure) → 15:00 (tour ends) → 15:30-16:00 (return to airport by taxi, 25-30 minutes).
  • 12-hour stay: Combine free tours with more attractions. After the tour ends at 3 p.m., take a taxi to Ping An Finance Center (15 minutes, ¥30-40) and enjoy a 360-degree city view from the 116th floor observation deck (¥180 per person). Take the subway (40 minutes, ¥9) or a taxi (30 minutes, ¥60- ¥80) back to the airport.
  • 24-hour stay: In-depth exploration of Shenzhen's culture and cuisine. After the Shenzhen Express tour, head to Dongmen Pedestrian Street to taste street snacks and do some shopping (50 minutes by subway, 8 yuan), then have a meal at a seafood restaurant in Shekou (30 minutes by taxi, 40 to 50 yuan), and take a stroll along the seaside. Stay at a hotel near the airport (such as Shenzhen Airport Hotel, 400 to 600 yuan per night), and return to the airport the next morning.

My stay at Crowne Plaza Shenzhen Futian was absolutely wonderful! The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming throughout my entire visit, from the moment I entered until check-in. Every team member was gentle, patient, and quick to respond to any request, which made me feel truly cared for. The check-in process was smooth and seamless, the procedures were efficient and convenient, and my luggage arrived promptly—no waiting around at all, which instantly boosted my travel mood. What really surprised me was the thoughtful upgrade I received. The upgraded room was spacious and bright, elegantly decorated, and impeccably clean. The bedding was soft and comfortable, and all the facilities were complete and well-maintained, showing great attention to detail and quality. The hotel is located in the heart of Futian, making transportation incredibly convenient with shopping areas all around. The breakfast offered a wide variety of delicious options. It's truly perfect for both business trips and leisure travel. My experience this time was a perfect 10, and it's now my go-to choice whenever I visit Shenzhen. I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone!

The moment you step into the lobby, you're enveloped in a rich sense of history. The exquisite decor shows the wear of time in a charming way, yet it's impeccably maintained and spotlessly clean. The service lives up to the reputation of an established hotel; from check-in to room service, professionalism and attentiveness shine through without a hint of perfunctoriness. The signature breakfast set menu has maintained its high standards for decades, with authentic local flavors that truly awaken the palate – it's clear why it's a favorite among regulars. The room was clean, and the front desk staff even sent up some fruit, which was a lovely touch. Staying here isn't just about finding a place to rest; it's about experiencing the classic memories of a city, something worth savoring again and again!

Here again, staying one night before heading to Hong Kong 🇭🇰 Facilities: The swimming pool and gym are still excellent, five-star standard. Cleanliness: Clean. Environment: Since I booked multiple rooms, I got an upgrade to a mountain view room, which was a bit small. Due to an issue with the room's facilities, they moved me to another room, which was larger. There's a picture of the mountain view room for reference. Service: As consistently good as ever. Thanks for the complimentary upgrade.

The hotel's location is excellent, making it quick and easy to get anywhere. The lobby had a lovely New Year's atmosphere, which was quite cozy. Overall, my stay was very comfortable and satisfying. The butler also checked in on our experience, and even with a couple of minor hiccups, they were very proactive in helping us resolve them. I would definitely come back again if I have the chance!

This was my first time staying at a Shangri-La hotel, and honestly, it wasn't as good as I'd imagined. The complimentary water in the room was Ice Dew, and there were only two bottles. That's incredibly stingy. For a five-star brand hotel, you'd expect at least Nongfu Spring or Wahaha. They're cutting costs to the point of no return. The last time I encountered Ice Dew in a five-star hotel was at the Gran Meliá Xi'an, about seven or eight years ago. I also tried the hotel's spa, and the price definitely didn't match the service. The woman at the front desk was also the masseuse, and frankly, her technique was very unprofessional. I ended the session early because of it. I would absolutely never choose it again. A good spa should add value and reputation to a hotel's brand. This one felt like it was outsourced. I'm guessing they charge too much for rent, and without making a profit, they just end up trying to fleece guests. I definitely won't choose it again.

The service was great; someone helped with our luggage right from check-in. The room facilities were excellent overall, with an old-money aesthetic. I particularly loved the scent of the full set of Diptyque toiletries in the bathroom. The Executive Lounge is definitely worth it, offering fantastic city views perfect for relaxing and gazing out. Drinks are available from noon, which is a great perk for those who enjoy a tipple, and the desserts were delicious. I especially want to commend Mandy's service—she was incredibly warm and friendly, really adding to the experience. I'd love to come back and try a new room next time.

The Four Seasons Shenzhen is truly one of the best hotels in the city. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly and attentive staff. Rachel, who assisted us during check-in, was exceptionally kind and helpful. Upon learning that we were in Shenzhen to celebrate our anniversary, she kindly upgraded our room and arranged a beautiful surprise with rose decorations and a cake. Thank you to the Four Seasons team for making our anniversary so special and memorable. The hotel is conveniently located near subway stations and Coco Park, making it very easy to get around. We initially planned to stay for three nights, but due to the hotel’s excellent location, comfort, and outstanding service, we decided to extend our stay by an additional two nights. The Four Seasons is now our top choice in Shenzhen, and we will definitely stay here again on our next visit. The only disappointment during our stay was the limited minibar selection, and the fact that soft drinks were charged. This did not quite meet our expectations for a five-star hotel.

Lo Wu Control Point, Lo Wu Railway Station Shenzhen|6.46km from city center
Let's start with some general comments before getting to the strong complaints. The room decor felt quite dated, probably because it's been nearly twenty years since the last renovation. The vanity chair was tilted to a point where I didn't dare sit on it, and the carpet, though fixed, felt lumpy and uneven even with shoes on. However, the hygiene was good, mineral water refills were generous, and it was generally quiet. On the other hand, the Executive Lounge was very disappointing. I went at 2 PM for snacks, and while I can't say there were *no* snacks, there were indeed only two broken prawn crackers. Both breakfast and dinner had limited variety and were quite bland. The funniest part was that I purchased a pre-sale package on Trip.com that included afternoon tea at Prego. According to the instructions, I called a day in advance to book and was told no reservation was needed, just provide the room number. I suspected the person on the phone might have confused my afternoon tea with the Executive Lounge's自带 snacks, so I specifically re-confirmed with the hotel's online customer service on Trip.com. The next day, upon arrival, I was initially directed to the Beer Bar. After I showed my booking information to the restaurant staff, they then took me to Prego. However, no one at the restaurant had been informed about my afternoon tea. They repeatedly confirmed my situation, contacted the front desk internally, and even asked me to call the reservation line right there to confirm. The confirmation came back that only the Executive Lounge was available. I almost laughed out of frustration. To their credit, the restaurant staff were very polite and promptly went to the kitchen to prepare some new tea items, but the internal organization, checking, and handover processes were clearly unprofessional. But it didn't end there. After sorting out the first day's afternoon tea, I specifically emphasized that they should remember to prepare the second day's afternoon tea and deliver it directly to my room. The next day, I returned to find nothing in my room. I went to the third floor to inquire, only to find out that a male staff member had, in his wisdom, tried to substitute it with Executive Lounge access for more guests or red wine. I was utterly baffled. Of course, I had booked the Executive Lounge for the correct number of people when I made the reservation. I stressed it repeatedly the day before, and *this* is how you flexibly adapted, right? He even tried to explain that the reason it wasn't prepared the day before was because Trip.com had listed the wrong product, and it wasn't their fault. Haha, your internal mistakes are irrelevant to me, and even if that were true for the first day, why were you still messing around on the second day? Hungry, I returned to the hotel with no snacks to eat and had to forage in the Executive Lounge. Halfway through my meal, this guy came back and offered us drinks as compensation. We asked for two hot chocolates. A little while later, the same guy brought over the honest-looking restaurant staff member and asked if chocolate syrup mixed with milk would be acceptable. I looked at it and realized it was the same bottle they put out for spreading on bread during breakfast. Seriously...

I booked this hotel for my family, and they told me it was really great. The room was spacious and well-laid out, and they especially loved the comfy sofa. They were in Shenzhen to cross the border for a day trip to Hong Kong, so they were a bit rushed. On checkout day, they even left behind a power bank and sunglasses! Thankfully, the front desk attendant helped them mail the items home. I just wanted to share our positive impression of the hotel.

Just opposite the Shenzhen railway station. Convenient and Walkable distance but got to walk a round and cross the street to the hotel. Probably around 8 mins walk with luggage. Cant go via the underpass as there is no escalators. Abit dated, pillow is too soft for comfy. Hence didn't really sleep well as it's too soft for me. Bed is also not that firm. Will opt for this hotel mainly for the reason that it's just nearby the train station.. Had my lunch at the hotel. Pasta cost roughly around $20 sgd and is not bad too.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay. The check-in staff kindly upgraded my room for free, which was a lovely surprise. The room was huge for one person and generally clean, with fresh linens and all the necessary amenities. The sea view was a definite highlight. Breakfast was included and offered an extensive selection of food, including European options. The gym and indoor pool were good additions for guests. On the downside, the dining area felt a bit small. Also, some guests were talking loudly on their balconies in the evenings, which was disruptive. I also wish the outdoor pool had been open. I booked this hotel a month before the Mid-Autumn Festival. I stumbled upon it by chance and was surprised to find such a secluded paradise in downtown Shenzhen. Although the hotel has some history, it's very comfortable inside. We even received a complimentary unlimited-access pass for each person to the attractions. While the overall facilities are a bit dated, our deluxe triple cabin room had been recently renovated, and the bathroom facilities were brand new. My favorite part was the balcony; enjoying the moon there that night had a special charm. After spending 5 days in Dali and then flying back to Shanghai via Shenzhen, I made a point to visit the Mandarin Oriental Shenzhen, which was on my MO List. The hotel, designed by SOM Architects, consists of a 388-meter tall tower and the tech-forward 'The Cube' podium. The Cube's exterior is made of panoramic glass curtain walls, offering guests inside expansive, sweeping views. Lingnan Elements: The hotel cleverly incorporates Lingnan features like grey brick walls, adding a touch of sophisticated cultural heritage to its luxury. Detail-Oriented Guests Will Rejoice: Marble bathrooms, walk-in closets, oversized bathtubs, and rainfall showers – every detail tells you: you deserve the best! 🪭 Fans of M.O. Members: Who understands the feeling of being pampered by MO? Surprise Perks: Since I booked an Executive Room, I chose a SPA Credit and late check-out until 4 PM. I was greeted with thoughtful arrangements and personalized amenities. I absolutely love this feeling of being 'remembered' and 'pampered' by MO! 🥢 Last week, I tried Master Hui's Guangzhou branch, and this time I came to 'Oriental Bay – by Master Hui' in Shenzhen for a taste. This restaurant is also helmed by Master Huang Jinghui, who boasts two Michelin stars. It specializes in innovative Cantonese cuisine, blending the essence of traditional Cantonese dishes with modern cooking techniques. In terms of taste, it was slightly less impressive than 'Jiang – by Master Hui' in Guangzhou. Recommended Dishes: Steamed Hairy Crab with Egg White Custard, Black Garlic and Preserved Vegetable Snow Beef, Handmade Crucian Carp Porridge, and Seasonal Soup (recommended for solo diners) 💆🏻♂️ Spa Center: Embark on a revitalizing journey for your body and mind. 🏊 High-Altitude Pool: Located on the 68th floor, this 20-meter indoor heated pool features a cathedral-like 30-meter high ceiling, making you feel like you're swimming in a 'sky mirror'! There's also a hot spring massage pool ♨️ nearby – a soak after your swim washes away all fatigue. 💆🏻♂️ SPA Experience: This time, I opted for MO's classic Oriental Essence. The 90-minute session featured professional yet gentle techniques from the therapist. In the serene environment, listening to soothing music, I felt my body and mind were completely 'rebooted'. 🌃 Stunning Views: While enjoying the spa, you can also overlook Lianhua Mountain and the city skyline – a double delight of 'scenery + healing'!

When checking out, she even offered to help me, a man, with my luggage! Of course, I couldn't let her, but I really appreciated the gesture. We had two breakfasts, and my family was quite happy with them. The best part is that they even proactively made a separate portion for my child. What more can I say? I felt a genuine respect for children. Dongshan Village is also nice, close to Jiao Diaosha and Yangmei Keng. For two days, there were few people and no traffic jams. This stay truly exceeded my expectations and can best be described as a genuine “home away from home.” It is rare to find a hotel that performs so well across comfort, service, location, and thoughtful details, and this experience left a very lasting impression. First of all, the room itself was exceptionally comfortable. From the moment I walked in, everything—from the bedding and lighting to the layout and overall ambience—made it easy to relax. The room was clearly very well maintained, with no signs of wear or aging. The décor felt modern yet warm, and the attention to upkeep was evident in every detail, from the furniture to the bathroom facilities. Returning to the room each day felt comforting and familiar, which is something not every hotel can achieve. At check-in, there was a short wait for the room due to availability, but the experience was handled extremely well. A Guest Relation Specialist proactively approached me, kindly checked in on my situation, and thoughtfully added me on WeChat so that assistance would always be easily accessible. From that point onward, communication became seamless. Whether I had questions, requests, or needed help at any time during my stay, support was always just a message away, with quick and attentive responses that made me feel truly cared for. I would especially like to thank Loyalty Manager Mr. Cao for arranging a room upgrade. The upgraded room offered more space and a better overall experience, which elevated my stay significantly. This gesture made me feel genuinely valued as a returning guest, rather than just another reservation. Although there was construction nearby during my stay, the hotel’s sound insulation was excellent. Noise never became an issue, and my rest was completely undisturbed. Both nights were quiet and restful, and I slept extremely well—something I truly appreciated. In the afternoon, the Guest Relations team kindly assisted in arranging the JW Christmas–themed afternoon tea. The presentation, quality, and festive atmosphere were outstanding. It was clear that great care had gone into the experience, and it added a wonderful sense of occasion to my stay. This was definitely a highlight and deserves high praise. The hotel’s location is another major advantage. Traveling to the airport in the morning was incredibly convenient, saving both time and stress. At the same time, the hotel is not far from Xiangmi Lake Park, making it equally suitable for leisure walks and relaxation. Whether for business or leisure, the location truly feels ideal. In the evening, based on a recommendation from the Guest Relations team, I visited the bar on the fourth floor—and I’m very glad I did. The atmosphere was beautiful, especially under the moonlight, creating a calm and romantic setting that made the night feel special. I highly recommend the Moscow Mule there—it was perfectly balanced, refreshing, and honestly one of the best I’ve had. Another thoughtful touch was the arrangement of a late check-out by the Guest Relations team. This allowed me to rest a bit longer and enjoy the morning without feeling rushed, which made a big difference before departure. Breakfast was also very impressive. The selection was extensive and well organized. Even though the restaurant was busy, everything ran smoothly and efficiently, with clear flow and attentive staff ensuring a pleasant dining experience. In addition, food deliveries were conveniently handled by service robots, which was both efficient and fun, adding a modern and thoughtful touch to the stay. Overall, this hotel excels not only in facilities, but also in service quality and attention to detail. From check-in to check-out, every interaction reflected professionalism, warmth, and genuine hospitality. Whether for business travel or a relaxing getaway, this is a hotel I would confidently recommend. It is absolutely a place I look forward to returning to in the future.

The environment here is a reflection of how subpar Shenzhen's city planning is! There's construction happening all around. I asked the front desk for a quiet room, and they assured me it wouldn't be noisy. To my surprise, it truly was quiet – a miracle! The room came with a charging cable, a UK-style power outlet, a fridge, and the TV was clear and easy on the eyes, with a working remote. Even though the window was sealed, there were no strange odors in the room or hallway, thanks to scheduled air purification. The lobby takes up almost an entire floor and has a grand, historic feel to it. The nearby convenience store was also well-stocked and useful. Overall, this place is at least a full step above the glorious hotel diagonally across the street. I still have to say, Shenzhen's city planning is truly awful 👎

I'm a bit unclear whether St. Regis's ”butler service” means a specific person contacts you at check-in or beforehand, and is responsible until you check out, or if it just refers to the guest service hotline on the in-room phone. The public areas are worth a visit, including the rooftop bar. The predominantly dark color scheme gives it an 'old money' feel, not at all gaudy. The play of light and shadow from dusk till nightfall is especially captivating. Many new hotels nowadays favor lighter colors, which can come across as a bit too 'young' or 'fresh'. The room showed some wear and tear, and there was the often-complained-about carpet (an unsolvable issue unless regularly replaced). The view facing Ping An Finance Center is actually quite ordinary, just a small pillar, and these rooms tend to be a bit smaller, feeling like they were carved out of a storage space. Rooms facing Hong Kong are a normal size, and looking across a 'ditch' at it gives a strange feeling (I haven't been to Hong Kong). I requested a room change for the view, and the hotel was very accommodating. There were welcome fruits. As a regular guest, I don't expect much more. The gym equipment is relatively complete. Breakfast doesn't offer à la carte options, and the variety is decent, but some items were subpar – the rice rolls were mushy and flavorless. Ice cream at breakfast is a plus, though. There was a queue for breakfast, which is the only hotel in Shenzhen I've encountered this at so far, even during New Year's Day, other hotels didn't have this. The strangest thing was being asked for my room card by staff when I went to explore the lobby public areas and bar at night. And I didn't see anyone else being checked during my stay (except when entering the breakfast restaurant). Perhaps I didn't look like someone who could afford to stay at the St. Regis. However, the attitude was quite different when they pressed me for a five-star review during check-out.

The room was spotless and clean, even had a fridge, with all the amenities one could ask for. The staff were friendly and helpful, and it's great value for money. It's also right next to Sea World, so dining, entertainment, and everything else is super convenient. I'd definitely stay here again.

The hotel room was average, but its saving grace was the beautiful view from the window, offering stunning sea and mountain bay views from the sea-view king room. The hotel is very close to the subway station, making transportation quite convenient. There's also a large shopping mall nearby, which is great for dining and shopping. The beach is just a three to four hundred meter walk away, and the scenery there is delightful.

Staying at the Renaissance Shenzhen Luohu Hotel, I discovered elegance and tranquility right in the heart of Luohu. The hotel is strategically located at the core of the Shenzhen-Hong Kong interchange, just a stone's throw from Guomao subway station, and within walking distance to Dongmen Old Street and Kingglory Plaza. It's a serene oasis amidst the hustle and bustle, making both travel and exploration effortless. The 'Shenzhen River' art installation in the lobby is truly ingenious, weaving the city's geographical identity into its design. A glance upwards reveals the meticulous craftsmanship, and any travel fatigue simply melts away. Our room, after its renovation, exuded elegant style. The neutral color palette created a comfortable ambiance, and the furnishings, while minimalist, were undeniably high-quality. The bedding was soft and perfectly fitted, and the bathroom design balanced aesthetics with practicality. We could open the window to enjoy city views, or close it for a quiet private space. Thoughtful details made our stay incredibly comfortable. The hotel's service was both warm and professional. Check-in at the front desk was efficient and smooth, staff responses were attentive, and housekeeping was meticulously thorough. From arrival to departure, we experienced nothing but impeccable five-star service. The 24-hour fitness center was well-maintained, adding a comfortable footnote to our trip. Blending the heritage of an old building with new, refined renovations, the Renaissance Shenzhen Luohu perfectly combines business convenience, leisure comfort, and the charm of the city. Whether for a business trip or urban exploration, it's an excellent choice for a visit to Shenzhen and Hong Kong. The experience here leaves a lasting impression.

Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport Shenzhen|26.69km from city center
Here's a review of the hotel: * **Convenient Location**: The hotel is situated west of Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport, seamlessly connected to gates 16/18. It's just a 5-minute walk to and from the terminal, making it incredibly convenient for travelers catching flights. It's often called ”the best choice for early boarding.” * **Attentive Service**: One guest, staying for the first time, mentioned being pleasantly surprised with a complimentary astronaut doll from the staff. Another guest, using a wheelchair, praised the staff for their helpfulness with luggage, highlighting their thoughtfulness. * **Comfortable Rooms**: A guest in an Airport View King Room described the decor as a relaxing, natural wood style. The 40-square-meter room included a large bathtub and panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows offering views of planes taking off and landing. The double-glazed windows provided excellent sound insulation, ensuring a completely quiet experience inside the room. * **Diverse Dining**: The hotel's café blends Shenzhen's diverse local elements, featuring an Italian steak section, a BBQ area, a seafood section, and offers an extensive buffet for both breakfast and dinner. The Xiangyue Chinese Restaurant serves authentic Cantonese and Sichuan-Hunan cuisines. Guests have raved about the ”excellent” breakfast, and one was particularly impressed by the Thai food buffet, noting the wonderfully spicy Tom Yum soup and delicious freshly grilled oysters. * **Excellent Facilities**: The hotel boasts a three-story heated swimming pool, a gym, a saltwater spa, and a flight experience center with extensive family-friendly amenities, as well as a kids' club. These facilities cater to the needs of various guests.

Shekou Area (Nanshan District) Shenzhen|16.19km from city center
This hotel wasn't originally on my radar. I only decided to stay here after spotting the big sphere atop K11 from afar while overlooking Shekou from Shenzhen Bay. To experience K11, I had to sacrifice the direct sea view. Afterwards, I realized the city view from the back of the hotel was also quite nice, making it one of those rare hotels with good views on both sides. The hotel shows its age (mostly with the carpets). Then I noticed a common pattern: expensive five-star hotels attract many influencers pretending to be wealthy, while more affordable five-star hotels host lots of tour groups and conferences. Here, I got a mix of both. There was an influencer company holding their annual dinner in the banquet hall downstairs. It's quite something to hear Li Yuchun's songs performed so off-key it sounded like wailing ghosts. There were no seats in the public area on the second floor for guests checking out and waiting for transportation. A group of us had to stand, luggage on the floor, like we were being punished. Were they worried about people from nearby walks coming in to sit? The room itself was decent, a bit of a ”nostalgic” traditional five-star layout. However, an empty minibar is pretty stingy, and there were no welcome fruits, no welcome fruits, no welcome fruits – I have to say it three times. This is currently the only five-star hotel in Shenzhen that didn't provide any. The gym is a bit mini, but it's okay for a quick workout. Breakfast was average. While the spread was quite large, the food's refinement could be improved. Nothing particularly memorable stood out. The happy hour selection was quite simple, with no live cooking stations. The buffet dishes were generally ordinary – not exquisite, not particularly appetizing, but it had a large canteen vibe and was almost full during meal times. Seeing the MGM sign already up behind K11 across the way, this place really needs to step up its game.

Our family had a wonderful Christmas weekend at the Kaisa Gold Bay Marriott Hotel in Shenzhen. Both the elderly and the children had a fantastic time! The front desk staff upgraded us to a sea-view room, which was spacious and bright with very comfortable beds – perfect for two adults and one child. The service staff were also very enthusiastic and responsive to guests' needs. As a family-friendly hotel, it offers a great variety of entertainment and recreational facilities, including movies to watch. The beach is also just a short walk from the hotel. Since it was the Christmas holiday, many Hong Kong tourists were also here for vacation and weddings. This place isn't as crowded as Dameisha, which I personally really appreciate. It's a quiet and relaxing beach hotel. We look forward to staying again!

The hotel room was more comfortable than I expected; they even upgraded my room at check-in. As soon as I walked in, I saw an adorable giant mushroom. The room had floor-to-ceiling windows with an unobstructed view of the golf course, so you could watch people playing during the day. The room was well-maintained, and the bathroom was huge, with a bathtub for soaking. The housekeeping department even provides bath salts. In the evening, I tried the Chinese restaurant, and the food was delicious! It was so comfortable staying here that I didn't want to go out at all.

This beachfront B&B absolutely deserves five stars! The room was spotless, the facilities were brand new, and the mattress was incredibly comfortable. The location is also fantastic – just a two-minute walk to the beach, perfect for watching the sunset. I called ahead to ask about bringing my pet, and the owner didn't object, which I really appreciate. The housekeeper, Phoebe, was very thoughtful, and the breakfast was delicious and plentiful; it wasn't a buffet but a freshly prepared, set meal.

Huaqiangbei Area Shenzhen|3.08km from city center
The weather in Shenzhen is great, neither too hot nor too cold. In this digital age, planning your trips is a must. How can you find an affordable and comfortable place to relax for a day? First, you need to sort out accommodation. Hotel standards vary, and so do prices. I chose the Quchuang Hotel, which is close to the subway station, making it convenient for getting around, shopping, and dining. Of course, there's always a difference between the photos in the booking and the actual place; in this era of technology, photos are often filtered, and celebrities are packaged. Online shopping often differs from what you receive, and I'm okay with that. The hotel is a bit old, but it's clean. There are many subway lines nearby, and because it's on a lower floor, it can be a bit noisy. That's the trade-off for convenience – you win some, you lose some. However, the front desk does provide earplugs. If you're looking for a five-star experience for just 200 RMB, this isn't it; there are hotels nearby starting from 500-600 RMB. I ultimately chose this one for its better value for money.

The apartment rooms are spacious and come with a washer-dryer combo. The front desk service was incredibly attentive, even upgrading us to a room with a balcony. The room was spotlessly clean, I'd give it five stars! The view from the window is great, and the surrounding transportation is convenient; it's close to the border crossing, just a 10-minute taxi ride away. There are plenty of food options downstairs. The mini-fridge had complimentary drinks, and the pillows were soft and comfortable. Disposable toiletries were provided in the room. You need to swipe your card to go upstairs, which made me feel very secure. The free Wi-Fi was fast and stable. Overall, the hotel offers good value for money.
