Practical Tips for Shenzhen Massage

  • Book in Advance: Weekends and holidays are peak times—book at least one day ahead to secure your preferred time and therapist. Popular spots like HUI SPA may require 2-4 hours’ notice.
  • Tipping Etiquette: Some spots include tips in the price (HUI SPA, Shenwan Jinyu Chi), while others have a no-tip policy (House Massage Parlor, Han Palace Health Center). If tipping is expected, $4 - $14 (or 10-20% of the treatment cost) is standard.
  • Health Considerations: Avoid massages if you’re intoxicated or on your menstrual period. Pregnant travelers should consult a doctor before booking a full-body massage. If you have conditions like high blood pressure or skin allergies, inform your therapist beforehand.
  • Language Help: High-end spots like iSpa have English-speaking staff. For other spots, use translation apps to communicate your needs. Show the address to taxi drivers or use navigation apps like Google Maps for easy transport.

This hotel is in a great location, right in the city center, making it easy to get around. The room was clean, tidy, and comfortable, with a large bathtub by the window, which I really enjoyed. The view from the window was also quite open, with mountain scenery in the distance. Yoyo at the guest service center provided excellent and attentive service, highly recommended!

My stay at Crowne Plaza Shenzhen was absolutely fantastic! The staff were incredibly sweet and friendly, with a gentle and patient demeanor. They even took the initiative to offer practical sightseeing recommendations, which made exploring the city so much easier. The check-in and check-out process was smooth, and any issues were addressed promptly. You could truly feel the care put into every detail. The overall environment was comfortable, the location was convenient, and the service was top-notch. I highly recommend this hotel!

I booked an executive room with executive benefits three months in advance. I stayed in their executive suite last Chinese New Year and was very impressed with the executive lounge's food, so I didn't even consider other hotels this year. Ms. Rachel from the lounge added me on WeChat beforehand and even gave us complimentary breakfast for my child. It's just over a 10-minute walk from Futian Station directly to the hotel. The front desk service was excellent; they arranged a room on the 20th floor and let us wait in the executive lounge while it was being prepared. A female manager in the lounge, whose name I didn't catch, was incredibly welcoming. The dinner, as always, was plentiful – whether it was cold dishes, desserts, or hot food, it was much more extensive than the executive light meals offered at other five-star hotels. The service was humble and polite throughout our two-night stay. I can truly say the dining experience was very enjoyable! The room was spacious, and the facilities were good; although a bit old, they were well-maintained. The housekeeping staff were also very courteous and would greet us proactively. The hotel elevator goes directly to the subway downstairs and connects to several shopping malls, making it super convenient for getting around and shopping. Highly recommend, I'll definitely stay here again next year.

I've stayed here many times. It's in an excellent location, right across from Hong Kong. Transportation is very convenient, being close to both Huanggang Port and Futian Port, which makes getting around easy. The hotel breakfast is great, and the room facilities are excellent. Overall, it's a very good experience.

The hotel's location is excellent, and I had a very comfortable and satisfying stay. The service was quick, and our butler was wonderful, even giving us a complimentary gift. The lobby is beautiful, and the decorations and arrangements really captured the festive spirit of the New Year. It's right in the city center with great transport links, making it very convenient for getting around. I'd definitely come back if I have the chance!

The location is superb, right above Futian Station, offering direct access to Hong Kong and Guangzhou South. There are also plenty of shopping malls nearby, perfect for leisure. The hotel's decor is a bit old-fashioned but well-maintained, and the bedding is comfortable. Breakfast has a limited variety, but the quality is good. The staff are proactive and helpful. My mother really liked it here, and we'll definitely consider coming back!

This stay was absolutely wonderful. Big thanks to Eric for proactively reaching out about my check-in request, providing detailed room information, and considering my accommodation needs. He was both professional and reliable. And a huge thank you to Mandy for her meticulous and thoughtful service, as well as her professional demeanor. She made me feel right at home during my stay and showcased the Ritz's top-tier service details and professionalism – truly commendable. **Check-in:** I checked in at the Executive Lounge on the 26th floor. Mandy warmly greeted me and handled the process. I was upgraded to an executive view room, and the overall experience was quick and pleasant. **Room:** I stayed in a newly renovated room this time. For established hotels, a new room, or simply choosing a new hotel, is often the safest bet. **Other amenities:** The toiletries were Diptyque Fig, and the water was VOSS – excellent choices. Welcome fruits were provided, and turn-down service included chocolates. **Executive Lounge:** The 'five meals a day' experience was great. Ms. Mandy gave me a detailed introduction to the current dining options and recommendations, and the other service staff were also excellent. **Breakfast:** The breakfast on the 2nd floor was quite extensive. Plates were cleared quickly, and the service was fantastic. I highly recommend the Eggs Benedict and rice noodle rolls. Overall, it was an outstanding experience, distinct from my Ritz stays in other cities. The emphasis on service truly resonated with me during my time at The Ritz-Carlton, Shenzhen. I'll definitely make an effort to come back and relax here whenever I can.

On vacation in Shenzhen, I missed my return flight. For the first few days, I stayed at the Kaisa Marriott (far from the airport, by the sea), but I didn't want to travel back and forth and risk missing another flight. So, I found a nice hotel nearby. I have to say, the Four Seasons Shenzhen truly lives up to its name. When I checked in, the front desk attendant was incredibly friendly and approachable, which was a refreshing change from the cold, robotic service at some other hotels – definitely worth praising. Then there's the lobby, the natural light is absolutely unbeatable! There's a grand piano next to the bar, and we happened to see someone playing it. The soft sunlight streaming in made for a truly delightful scene, giving me an excellent first impression of the hotel. As for the room, I was very pleased with the fantastic sound quality of the speakers and the superb view. Although it wasn't on a high floor (I personally prefer staying in very tall hotels), the high-rises opposite perfectly conveyed the hustle and bustle of Shenzhen. The hotel's location is also excellent; the Ritz is directly opposite the Four Seasons, it's only about ten kilometers from the airport, and there's a pedestrian street right next door, making it incredibly convenient to go anywhere. Around 10 PM, we had a few cocktails at the lobby bar, and the atmosphere was super chill. Now, for some minor suggestions after listing the pros. First, the lobby bar closes way too early! It stops service at 11 PM. The front desk attendant even joked, ”I also think drinks should be enjoyed until the early morning hours.” I hope the bar can stay open until midnight so we can relax, chat, and enjoy the Shenzhen vibe a bit longer. Also, I hope the doormen can be a bit more attentive. Since there were four of us arriving in a business van, and each of us had luggage, I wished the doorman would react more quickly and have two more people help with our bags, instead of just one person deliberating on how to carry all our luggage. But these are minor issues. All in all, this Four Seasons experience was a quintessential luxury hotel stay. I hope the hotel continues to strive and maintain the Four Seasons' reputation and service. I look forward to even more delightful surprises on my next stay.

Had a nice stay with my family for my birthday. We stayed during Chinese new year dates so the restaurant Prego wasn't open. The Brez restaurant for dinner is nothing fancy but does the job. Breakfast was nice and only 100 per person. Service from all staff was really good. They gave a birthday cake for my birthday and were very accommodating. The staff was very welcoming and always making us feel welcome. Location is good if you have a car. We went to Dameisha beach, the pedestrian street and Sea world. All different districts. However, the hotel is in need of some upgrades. The pool is not that warm even though they say heated. Other one is the baby crib. 1: - it's tiny. More for a newborn. 2: - the cribs are old and worn down. Need to upgrade baby beds immediately. Not sanitary for children. I did ask for a bigger size but it was a pull out bed which was an extra charge and also our baby doesn't sleep in a big bed yet. So in the end, we had a tiny, warn out baby crib. He ended up in bed with us. I wouldn't consider it 5 stars. Would I stay again? Probably not. Thanks to the staff!

The hotel's location is excellent. From the B2 level, you can directly access Shayin Station on Metro Line 1, which goes to many places. It's also incredibly convenient for trips to Hong Kong via Luohu Port. The front desk staff, both the young men and women, have wonderful attitudes. Even the cleaning staff are incredibly friendly; they not only answer all your questions but also proactively provide thoughtful responses to our various inquiries. The room is spacious, similar to the one-bedroom, one-living room suite we booked at the same time. The only difference is an extra single bed in the living room, while the bedroom has a king-sized bed, allowing it to accommodate three people. The furniture is a bit dated, but everything is very clean, giving it a charming, old Hong Kong vibe. (On this trip to Hong Kong, I noticed that many hotels on Hong Kong Island are still like they were years ago, though some new hotels have opened in Sha Tin that are more like mainland hotels, with larger rooms and wider beds). The disposable slippers at this hotel are excellent – thick, soft, and very comfortable to wear.

Good overall, and very convenient as it's close to the border crossing. Facilities: The facilities are a bit old, and there are very few power outlets, which was quite inconvenient. Otherwise, it has the standard amenities you'd expect from a five-star hotel. Hygiene: Generally, the hygiene was good, but the bottom of the shower curtain had some mold. For a five-star hotel, shower curtains should really be disinfected and cleaned after each use. Ambiance: The environment is great, close to the border crossing, quiet and peaceful. Service: The service was very good.

I used a coupon from Ctrip for a two-night stay at this hotel, which included breakfast and a complimentary photo shoot, all for 968. The hotel's location is excellent, very close to Dameisha Seaside Park, and right next to the Outlets. We could also access the InterContinental beach, which was less crowded and great for photos. Facilities: Upon closer inspection, the hotel's interior felt a bit dated and could use some upgrades. The breakfast area was very busy, but luckily, there are two restaurants. The indoor heated pool had good water quality. Service: Check-out was at 12 PM. I tried to negotiate a one-hour late check-out due to a late flight, but it was still a bit early as most check-ins aren't until after 2 PM. Overall, the value for money was still quite good.

The front desk staff were incredibly warm and attentive, truly showcasing the service excellence of a premium hotel. Check-in was super fast, and the room was absolutely fantastic, far exceeding what you'd expect for this price point. It had a walk-in closet, a bathroom with a separate wet and dry area, and my child's favorite, a square bathtub. The bed was also extremely comfortable. All in all, whenever I come to Shenzhen in the future, this will be my go-to place.

I booked this hotel a month before the Mid-Autumn Festival. I stumbled upon it by chance and was surprised to find such a secluded paradise in downtown Shenzhen. Although the hotel has some history, it's very comfortable inside. We even received a complimentary unlimited-access pass for each person to the attractions. While the overall facilities are a bit dated, our deluxe triple cabin room had been recently renovated, and the bathroom facilities were brand new. My favorite part was the balcony; enjoying the moon there that night had a special charm. Interestingly, we ordered takeout, and the delivery guy was so captivated by the beautiful night view that he lingered at the front desk taking photos after dropping off our order.

We enjoyed our stay!!! Swimming pool was fun! However, we waited in check-in line for a long long time. There were issues with a gentleman that came back twice and was very angry about his room. The second time, he came to the lady helping us check in and just was so rude and screamed at her. It was really impolite as we were not done checking in. Hope it will be smoother for you us next time.

I rarely stay in guesthouses, but this experience truly exceeded my expectations. First off, it's much more stylish and cleaner than the places nearby, which I really appreciated. The room type I stayed in was a bit small, but acceptable; I'll try a different room next time. The staff, especially one young lady, was excellent and very polite. When checking out, she even offered to help me, a man, with my luggage! Of course, I couldn't let her, but I really appreciated the gesture. We had two breakfasts, and my family was quite happy with them. The best part is that they even proactively made a separate portion for my child. What more can I say? I felt a genuine respect for children. Dongshan Village is also nice, close to Jiao Diaosha and Yangmei Keng. For two days, there were few people and no traffic jams. Overall, it was a fantastic trip (I didn't take any photos).

I'm starting to dislike the hustle and bustle of big hotels, and instead, these tucked-away mountain guesthouses are much more soothing for the soul. While they might not be as luxurious, the quiet surroundings, lush greenery, and the sounds of birds and cicadas bring such a sense of peace. The air is fantastic too! The guesthouse manager was also very amiable and easy to talk to. After checking in, they provided detailed instructions for everything. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay. It's the perfect place to unwind when you're feeling stressed.

This charming three-story villa truly embodies the 'small but perfectly formed' concept! Despite its compact footprint, the design is incredibly thoughtful, featuring a stylish loft-style staircase, and every corner is picture-perfect. The biggest bonus is its proximity to the beach – just a 3-minute walk! You can dip your toes in the waves anytime, and in the evening, enjoy the stunning sunset glow over the ocean from the terrace. It's tucked away in a quiet village alley (just navigate to the police station). At night, it's wonderfully peaceful, free from tourist crowds, offering a total sense of security. The entire street is lined with seafood eateries, though prices there aren't cheap. The room rate isn't cheap, but it's quite reasonable if split among 2-4 people. You can even light an aromatherapy candle for a bath – the attention to detail is great. The only minor drawback is limited parking, so it's advisable to arrive during off-peak hours. Ideal for couples or small families seeking a secluded getaway.

The hotel service was absolutely top-notch! From the moment we stepped in on the first floor until check-in, everyone was incredibly thoughtful and welcoming. The room was comfortable, and the breakfast buffet offered a great variety. Plus, there's a large shopping mall nearby, which was very convenient, and the subway station is close by, making getting around a breeze!

To celebrate my sister's birthday, we specifically chose to stay in Yantian for two nights. The Hyatt Regency Yantian truly lives up to its reputation as a seasoned five-star hotel; the service was incredibly thoughtful and attentive. Knowing it was my sister's birthday, they specially decorated the room and even prepared a lovely birthday cake 🎂, which made us all very happy 🥳! Thank you 🙏! The three of us (my mother, sister, and I) stayed in a family room with beautiful sea views and stunning sunsets. The room itself was spacious and comfortable – truly excellent 👍! Moreover, staying at the Hyatt Regency Yantian makes it very convenient to explore the surroundings. The Lighthouse Library and Yantian Waterfront Boardwalk are nearby, and you can take one metro stop to visit Chung Ying Street (remember to apply online in advance for free entry 🆓). There's also a 'Mountain and Sea Express' bus near the hotel that takes you to Enshang Wetland Park, often dubbed 'Shenzhen's Altai.' And if you take the metro to 'Yantian Market,' you'll find the famous Yantian Seafood Street where you can feast to your heart's content. All in all, our three-day, two-night trip was absolutely delightful!

The main reason we chose this hotel was its excellent location. The hotel's ground floor elevator leads directly to Yitian Plaza, and crossing the road right outside brings you to Window of the World. For families with kids, it's incredibly convenient – you can easily head back to your room to rest whenever you're tired from sightseeing, and even re-enter the park in the evening to enjoy more rides. The bedding was soft and fluffy, and the air conditioning was powerful with good cooling. WiFi required logging in but the speed was decent. The carpet, however, looked quite dirty, and the facilities felt a bit dated overall, just so-so. We arrived at the hotel around noon on the fourth day of Chinese New Year, and there was only one bellhop, so no one helped us with our luggage to the room. There was a long queue at the front desk with no one directing traffic, and it was unclear if people were checking in or checking out. Only after asking were we told to check in on the second floor. It was a real hassle with a child and luggage, having to go up to the second floor to check in and then come back down. I've never encountered such a frustrating check-in process before. The bathroom and shower share one door, which is a bit odd. The shower's water barrier was practically useless, and water spilled out after showering, reaching the adjacent toilet area. Basic amenities like a shower cap, vanity kit, or cotton swabs were not provided, and there was only one tissue box in the entire bathroom, which was very inconvenient when traveling with a child. We arrived at the restaurant around 9:30 AM the next day and were still waiting in a long, crowded line. Overall, there's significant room for improvement in the details. It doesn't feel like a 5-star hotel, and the service lacks a personal touch.

My stay at Shenzhen MO was absolutely perfect! I have to give a special shout-out to Ms. Tipo, who was incredibly warm and attentive. She gave us a detailed room tour and offered fantastic travel recommendations throughout our two-day stay – so thoughtful! All the staff were very friendly, creating a wonderful service atmosphere. The location is super convenient, close to UpperHills and a park, which was great for traveling with seniors. The executive room and lounge offered stunning views, the bedding was clean and comfortable, and the turndown service had great attention to detail. I'll definitely be staying here again next time I'm in Shenzhen!

The staff's service attitude was really good, especially the outdoor kids' club staff, who were excellent. Breakfast was the most satisfying part. However, the mattress in the room was absolutely terrible. I've never experienced a five-star hotel mattress where the entire bed shakes when one person turns over. Considering that most guests at this hotel are likely families booking this 2-meter king-size bed, those who are light sleepers should seriously reconsider. My husband and I barely slept well. Also, the Utopia kids' club is split into indoor and outdoor sections, and the fact that the indoor part costs extra is quite off-putting. It feels like an in-house hotel facility, yet guests have to pay an additional 200 RMB to use it. I suggest either using different names or clearly stating that the hotel room only includes access to the outdoor play facilities. In fact, the outdoor section was already great and more than sufficient; even the carousel was free, and there was a building block house. The indoor play area feels like it's purely designed to annoy guests.

Cleanliness: The hotel isn't new, but the rooms and public facilities are well-maintained, including the outdoor pool which wasn't in use in February. The green coverage is high. Service: I was extremely impressed with the hotel's dining service. The breakfast buffet offered a rich variety of dishes, and the prepared food was meticulously cut. Most importantly, the seating management during peak breakfast hours was well-organized. Even during the busiest period from 9-10 AM, there was hardly any waiting time. What's even more commendable is how proactive and attentive all the staff were in anticipating guests' needs. They cleared plates promptly and thoughtfully, constantly scanning the room for any requirements. Similarly, during the dinner buffet, the food was fresh, with excellent beef hotpot and seafood quality. The authentic Cantonese-style rice noodle rolls and clay pot rice were also highlights. While you could tell the restaurant was mindful of costs, they still offered everything you'd expect without sacrificing quality or the overall dining experience. They even allowed a small amount of leftovers to be packed for my child who wasn't with me, which speaks volumes about the management's generous and accommodating service philosophy.

Steven's service was absolutely superb, and the free parking lot was very spacious. The complimentary sweet soup for goodnight was a thoughtful touch, and breakfast was delicious. The recommended lunch was also quite good. Just playing on the hotel's beach was incredibly satisfying; it felt like there was no need to visit any other beaches.

The weather in Shenzhen is great, neither too hot nor too cold. In this digital age, planning your trips is a must. How can you find an affordable and comfortable place to relax for a day? First, you need to sort out accommodation. Hotel standards vary, and so do prices. I chose the Quchuang Hotel, which is close to the subway station, making it convenient for getting around, shopping, and dining. Of course, there's always a difference between the photos in the booking and the actual place; in this era of technology, photos are often filtered, and celebrities are packaged. Online shopping often differs from what you receive, and I'm okay with that. The hotel is a bit old, but it's clean. There are many subway lines nearby, and because it's on a lower floor, it can be a bit noisy. That's the trade-off for convenience – you win some, you lose some. However, the front desk does provide earplugs. If you're looking for a five-star experience for just 200 RMB, this isn't it; there are hotels nearby starting from 500-600 RMB. I ultimately chose this one for its better value for money.

Booked my trip during Chinese New Year, and the front desk agent, Xiao Yang, was incredibly warm and attentive. They let me check in early after confirming with me, and even offered complimentary breakfast and a late checkout, which was very patient of them. The room had a balcony, which was a nice touch overall. The breakfast selection was a bit limited compared to other Hilton properties, and the room rate during Chinese New Year was actually double what you'd pay at Shenzhen North Station. However, the service was consistently excellent.

The facilities were complete and worked well, with plenty of hot water and stable water pressure. The cleanliness details were impeccable, and the toiletries were high quality. This place offers incredible value for money.
