Practical Tips for Shenzhen Massage
- Book in Advance: Weekends and holidays are peak times—book at least one day ahead to secure your preferred time and therapist. Popular spots like HUI SPA may require 2-4 hours’ notice.
- Tipping Etiquette: Some spots include tips in the price (HUI SPA, Shenwan Jinyu Chi), while others have a no-tip policy (House Massage Parlor, Han Palace Health Center). If tipping is expected, $4 - $14 (or 10-20% of the treatment cost) is standard.
- Health Considerations: Avoid massages if you’re intoxicated or on your menstrual period. Pregnant travelers should consult a doctor before booking a full-body massage. If you have conditions like high blood pressure or skin allergies, inform your therapist beforehand.
- Language Help: High-end spots like iSpa have English-speaking staff. For other spots, use translation apps to communicate your needs. Show the address to taxi drivers or use navigation apps like Google Maps for easy transport.

My stay at Crowne Plaza Shenzhen Futian was absolutely perfect! The hotel is located in the heart of Futian, making it super convenient for shopping and getting around. The Golden Key concierge team provided attentive service throughout my stay, and all the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always greeting guests with a lovely smile. I made a few casual suggestions during my stay, and the staff not only carefully noted them down and listened to my feedback, but also quickly provided an optimized solution, showing their practical and dedicated approach. The room was clean and dry, with comfortable furnishings, and any requests were handled promptly. Whether it was luggage storage or directions to nearby shopping areas, everything was handled efficiently. The entire service team was professional and discreet; they were never intrusive but always there to help when needed. As a business traveler, I felt completely at ease and comfortable. I will definitely choose this hotel again when I return to Shenzhen, and I wholeheartedly recommend it.FromAU$139

We had a very good stay at Sheraton Shenzhen Futian Hotel and would definitely come back again. The service throughout the stay was excellent, and the staff really did their best to make us comfortable. A special thanks to the reception team for helping us with a late check-out since our flight was very late at night. That made a huge difference for us and was greatly appreciated.
The concierge team was also very helpful with directions, recommendations, transportation, and even helping us with our orders. Communication was easy, and everyone was very professional and welcoming.
The location of the hotel is amazing. It is directly connected to a mall, which made everything very convenient. We had easy access to shopping, restaurants, cafés, convenience stores, and everything we needed during our stay.
One of the highlights for us was the lounge access on the 24th floor. The happy hour was really enjoyable, and we spent a lot of time there relaxing, admiring the beautiful city view, and enjoying the atmosphere. It became one of our favorite parts of the hotel experience.
The breakfast was also very cozy and pleasant because it was not overcrowded. We could actually relax, take our time eating, and enjoy the view peacefully, which made the mornings feel very comfortable.
The hotel itself is very large and spacious. While the rooms are a little older in style, they are very comfortable and generously sized, which is actually something we appreciated. Sometimes older hotels offer much more space and comfort compared to newer properties.
Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay. The combination of the excellent service, spacious rooms, lounge access, and perfect location made this a very enjoyable experience, and we would happily stay here again on our next trip to Shenzhen.FromAU$154

Overall, I'm quite satisfied. We stayed at a hotel near the border crossing in advance of our trip to Hong Kong, which was very convenient for crossing early in the morning and getting ahead of the queues.
The check-in experience could be improved slightly. There weren't many staff members at the reception when we checked in during the afternoon, so we had to wait quite a while, but their service and responsiveness to complaints were excellent.
While the room wasn't brand new (understandable given its age), it was clean, and the housekeeping staff did a fantastic job.FromAU$109

My favourite hotel in Shenzhen is definitely Four Seasons Hotel Shenzhen. The location in the Futian District is hard to beat, especially for business or leisure travel. It’s conveniently located near Futian high-speed rail station, metro connections, major shopping centers, bars, cafés and countless restaurant options, making it incredibly easy to move around the city. The Convention & Exhibition Center is also just a short walk away.
The hotel itself offers the high standard of comfort and service you would expect from Four Seasons. Rooms are elegant, very comfortable and well maintained, while the staff are consistently professional and attentive. Whether staying for business meetings or simply enjoying Shenzhen for a few days, this property always feels like the perfect base in the city.
One of the things I appreciate most is how lively and convenient the surrounding area is. You can easily walk to shopping malls, nightlife spots and restaurants, while still enjoying the calm and luxury atmosphere once back inside the hotel. The service throughout my stay was thoughtful and thorough, truly living up to a five-star standard. The front desk efficiently handled my check-in with politeness, and the concierge proactively offered to help with my luggage. Room service was prompt and meticulous. The turndown service even included a special bookmark, which really showed attention to detail. The staff were responsive and enthusiastic, making me feel very welcome. As a hotel that's been open for over thirty years, the facilities do show their age a bit. The bathroom design felt dated, and some room types didn't have a separate shower and bath, meaning I had to shower in the tub, which wasn't the most efficient use of space. The soundproofing was decent; I occasionally heard minor noises from the hallway, but it didn't disrupt my rest overall.FromAU$105

The hotel has both indoor and outdoor pools, and they weren't crowded. This was a perfect hotel for us to land after a long international flight with young kids; huge hotel and compound which likely had its prime when it was first built 20 years ago; it needs a lot of maintenance and upkeep but the standout of it was its nature park access which is a must with young kids; so beautiful and lots of fun. We splurged on a Grand Suite for my husband’s birthday and it did not disappoint. The suite was spacious and elegant, with access to a quiet club lounge that felt like a hidden retreat. Breakfast was a feast — from authentic Chinese dishes to hearty Western classics, the spread was impressive. The swimming pool is on the smaller side, but spotless; we went in the morning and had it almost to ourselves, just our family and one other guest. Although Meisu is a little distance from the subway station, there are beaches/snack stalls along the way, so it's okay. The estate itself feels old, and the swimming pool is deserted, but once you enter the house, you’re in another world;
The cleanliness is better than expected, the bed sheets, towels, quilts, sofa and bathtub are also clean and tidy;
Customer service contacted us via WeChat, and the Wifi, door password, and how to get to Meisu were all clear. Even nearby attractions are introduced one by one. Although the response is not immediate, you don’t have to wait too long;
The facilities are very complete. The bathroom supplies are all there. The refrigerator can freeze (which is good for a normal hotel). There is a giant screen with movies to watch, but VIPs can't watch them. However, you can use Air View, and you can prepare your own movies if necessary.
There are two sets of kimonos for everyone to take photos, and the surfaces are very clean. There are also sufficient charging stations in the room, and a charging cable is provided. The bathtub is on the terrace, with disposable bath bags provided. Draw the blinds at night, turn off the terrace lights, and people downstairs won't see you when you stand up.

Shenzhen Nanao | Stay in a French Garden and Watch the Sea 🌅 Mello is absolutely stunning!
Found a French Riviera-inspired B&B in Shenzhen 🏡 Mello truly has romance etched into its soul. White walls + French courtyard + endless sea views – every shot looks like it's straight out of a movie 🎬. The housekeeper even provided thoughtful sleep eye masks 💤.
Open the window to a sunset over the orange sea 🌇. Sunlight streams into the room, making even the air feel gentle. The courtyard is fragrant with lemon trees and passion fruit, and you can spend an entire afternoon on the swing. A cocktail and a tipsy view of the sea are so therapeutic.
Just a few minutes' walk to the beach 🏖️. It's uncrowded with clear water, super comfortable for walking on the sand and watching the waves. The room is clean and comfortable, and the bedding is so soft you won't want to get up ✨.

Let’s start with the service – because wow. From the moment I walked in, the reception girls were absolutely perfect. Warm, professional, and so attentive without being overbearing. They remembered little details, made check-in seamless, and genuinely seemed to care about making my stay special. Honestly, they set the tone for the whole trip.
The room? Incredible. Spacious, elegant, super comfortable bed, and every little amenity you could think of. But the real showstopper was the view – floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Shenzhen skyline. I must have just stood there for ten minutes taking it all in.
Breakfast was delicious too – great mix of Western and local options, everything fresh, and the service at breakfast was just as polished as the front desk.

Typical Hyatt standard. The front desk was great and gave us a free upgrade. The mountain and river views are uniquely beautiful, even on a cloudy day. What's particularly good is that the hotel lobby connects directly to a mall, so you can eat, drink, and have fun without stepping outside in the rain.
However, aside from that, there was no butler service, turn-down service, or welcome fruit. The TV couldn't cast to, and among the five-star hotels I've stayed in, the service was quite average. I checked in late, after a concert, and even for a short stay, it was a good experience! The room had a great view, and I could even watch planes take off and land during the day! The best part was direct access to the terminal, which saved me a lot of hassle for my morning flight. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, especially the steamed chicken feet. However, when I went back for more, the chef at the station said they were out and was very grumpy about it. While this minor flaw was annoying, I can overlook it and it doesn't stop me from giving 5 stars, but others might not be so forgiving. I hope they improve this aspect! The hotel's location is superb, right by the sea and close to a shopping area. The surroundings are beautiful, making it very convenient for shopping and dining. Taking a stroll along the beach in the evening, with the sea breeze, is incredibly relaxing!
I initially booked a room in the South Wing, but upon arrival, the room wasn't ready yet. I promptly requested a switch to the North Wing. The room size was just right, the bedding was comfortable, and there was a beautiful sea view from the window.
The breakfast was plentiful and tasted good.
The pool was a bit disappointing. It was only about 0.8-1 meter deep, making it suitable mainly for younger children. The water quality also wasn't great; there were quite a few fallen leaves floating around, and no one was clearing them out!FromAU$164

I have to give a huge shout-out to Jason, our service butler! His service was professional and incredibly thoughtful. He proactively contacted me before check-in to understand all my needs, and his attention to detail was exceptional. The room was spotless, with excellent housekeeping, and all the in-room facilities and amenities were fully equipped and in perfect working order, making for an extremely comfortable stay. The hotel breakfast offered a wide variety of choices, fresh ingredients, and a pleasant dining environment. From the initial pre-arrival communication to the room's condition and the dining experience, every aspect showed great care. Jason's outstanding service mindset and warm attitude made the entire stay extra enjoyable. The overall experience was superb and highly recommended!FromAU$169

Manager Zeng upgraded me to a sea view room, and with my platinum card suite upgrade, it perfectly transformed into a two-bedroom apartment! 😍
Everything else was great, excellent value for money at this price. The only downside is that out of three pools, one is always closed for cleaning during operating hours, except on weekends. I don't quite understand why they clean it during open hours. Plus, the front desk didn't mention it at check-in, nor did anyone say anything when I went swimming, but I got kicked out halfway through my swim.
It's a bit old, for sure. The TV was a little broken, and some outlets weren't working, but considering the price, it's still good value.FromAU$142

Guanlan Shenzhen|21.7km from city center
The hotel was really quiet and the room was super clean. We also took the kids to the Eco-Sports Commune, which was a very comfortable place to play with some amusement rides. Afterwards, we went to the Ice and Snow World, which the kids really enjoyed. There's also an aquarium right at the entrance with lots of things to do. Plus, there's a new shopping center with plenty of food options just across the street, making it very convenient. The shuttle bus service nearby is also great for getting around. Highly recommend!FromAU$155

We have enjoyed very much the stay at the guesthouse, it is just in front of the beach, very convenient. We stayed at the 5 rooms and the view was great in all the rooms. They provided all the amenities and more. Their staffs are all very attentive and polite.
Food at the restaurant is super. The pizza is much more tasty than famous pizza shops in HK. Highly recimment their pizzas. Breakfast very good, Western and Chinese both tasty and abundat. We will come back.FromAU$70

Huaqiangbei Area Shenzhen|3.08km from city center
The hotel's location is great, though the entrance isn't very obvious – it's actually right across from Huaqiangbei Road. You'll see a lot of international guests coming and going, many of whom are clearly young people visiting from abroad for business or travel. The geographical location is excellent, less than a few hundred meters from Huaqiang Station. There are plenty of places to eat, drink, and shop nearby, making it convenient for exploring various parts of Shenzhen. It can't compare to a grand hotel, but it's clean, which is a major plus.
Try to avoid lower floors, as you'll experience vibrations from the subway passing by, basically from day to night. I was assigned an end room on the second floor, and the subway vibrations were constant throughout my stay, which definitely affected my sleep.FromAU$43

Turns out Hampton Inn is indeed Hampton, and its Chinese name sounds so joyful and warm. The hotel pays great attention to detail, with many thoughtful touches. I got a 'lucky' goodie bag, and while I didn't take the small items (even though I could), it made me happy about my little bit of luck. The front desk staff were all smiles. The most impressive person was the lady in the restaurant; she was meticulous yet firm, and genuinely cared about whether we were satisfied. So, I took a picture of her name tag (Liu Mingjie) to remember her sense of ownership. A hotel that inspires its employees to genuinely promote it! Most importantly, it offers great value for money.FromAU$118

The hotel is located right next to a park, which is perfect for families with kids. We were very satisfied with our stay in all aspects. After dinner, we enjoyed a lovely evening stroll along the seaside boardwalk, which was incredibly relaxing. Ms. Wang at the front desk arranged a room for us with a fantastic view of Yantian Port, and the expansive scenery was truly beautiful! We'll definitely be back next time!
