Recently had the pleasure of staying at Dorsett hotel and overall, it was a great experience. The hotel, though a bit on the older side, is very clean and well-maintained. The housekeeping team did a wonderful job, cleaning the room every day and ensuring that all amenities were topped up, which really added to the comfort of our stay. One of the highlights was the excellent service from the staff. Everyone was friendly and accommodating, from check-in to check-out. They made sure we had everything we needed, and even upgraded our room, which was a lovely surprise. While the hotel could use a little modernization, the quality of service and attention to cleanliness definitely made up for it. If you're looking for a comfortable, hassle-free stay with great service, I highly recommend Dorsett hotel. Would definitely return!

Professional Services and Memorable Stay It’s not about whether a hotel is old or new — what truly matters is the comfort during the stay. I sincerely appreciate the management team, especially Ms. 小佳 and her team, for being extremely helpful and professional throughout my visit. The team truly understands what customers need. Their attentiveness made me feel very welcomed, and I will definitely recommend this hotel to my family and friends. Although the hotel is not new, it remains very comfortable compared to some newer hotels with limited staff and slower service. At Crowne Plaza Chengdu City Center (by IHG), the service team is always available whenever assistance is needed — something that really makes a difference. The management team also went above and beyond by sharing information on nearby attractions, recommending local food places, and assisting us with transportation booking to the airport, even at the last minute. I truly appreciate their helpfulness and dedication. Additional Highlights: The hotel provides free transportation to the Panda Research Base — the charter bus conveniently waits right outside the hotel early in the morning, saving us the hassle of walking far. The location is surrounded by local eateries, allowing me to experience authentic Chengdu culture and cuisine. The souvenir prepared by the management team was a thoughtful touch and created a lasting memory of Chengdu and its warm hospitality. Thank you once again to the management team and Ms. 小佳 for your excellent service and care. You made my stay in Chengdu truly enjoyable and memorable.

Pros: Wifi was really good here with super fast connection as compared to some other hotels I have been in China. Breakfast is decent. Pool looks nice. Location is good and easy to get a taxi. Overall pretty clean. Nice to have washing machine in the room. Robot for food deliveries. Cons: We did not seem to be able to adjust the aircon temperature to our desired level and had to resort to opening the curtains and windows fully at times. Sometimes, the food delivery driver is not able to use the robot so we had to collect it downstairs ourselves. Overall: Would recommend!

First time staying at the Ritz-Carlton Chengdu, and the experience was absolutely perfect! 😁😁😁 I booked two Ritz-Carlton Suites for my family and me during our trip to Chengdu, and the thoughtful service from Ms. Lianne made the start of our journey full of pleasant surprises 🥳🥳🥳. Before we even arrived, Ms. Lianne proactively reached out to understand our needs. She not only reserved rooms for us very close to the Executive Lounge but also went above and beyond to arrange rooms on the 38th and 39th floors, despite the limitation of ”only one Ritz-Carlton Suite per floor.” This thoughtful gesture allowed my family to easily look after each other while maintaining our privacy, which was incredibly touching. During check-in, she thoughtfully arranged for us to complete the process while dining at the lounge, saving us waiting time and allowing my family to start their vacation in a comfortable setting. From the meticulous arrangements to the warmth of the service, we truly felt the high quality of the Ritz-Carlton Chengdu. I especially want to commend Ms. Lianne for her professionalism and attentiveness. This will definitely be our top choice for our next visit to Chengdu! 🙃🙃🙃

The service was excellent, very responsive, and attentive. However, the overall room facilities showed clear signs of aging. The green plant in the bathroom was oversaturated, and the control panel in the room was very inconvenient to operate; the curtain button often required multiple presses to respond. I particularly have to complain about the breakfast. Several food trays (ham, vegetable hearts) were empty for almost ten minutes before anyone refilled them. The hollandaise sauce on the Eggs Benedict was a bit too thin, and the first egg served was completely hard-boiled. After sending it back, the second one did have a runny yolk, but it arrived with a notch from being checked for doneness. This is the St. Regis, my friend! Even if the chef can't gauge doneness by touch and needs destructive testing, the egg station should have noted the correct cooking time for a perfect egg and made a fresh one for the guest, rather than serving a damaged item. The bar experience wasn't great either; the main bartender disappeared mid-service for some reason, and the Mary Jing cocktail was completely different from what you'd get at the St. Regis Jing An...

The room was very clean and well-equipped, with both regular and plush slippers provided. The only minor issue was the shower faucet, which took a little getting used to at first. The mattress, duvet, and pillows were all clean and comfortable. The breakfast was well-balanced and nutritious, with a variety of freshly squeezed fruit and vegetable juices available daily – I particularly loved the carrot and ginger juice. The location is convenient for transportation, and it's easy to hail a taxi. I only found out on the second night that there's also a direct shuttle service to major attractions in Chengdu; it would have been great if there was a card in the room providing this information.

The staff initially offered me a room upgrade for an additional 300 yuan, and I accepted. However, after entering the room, I realized it was much larger than necessary since I was traveling alone, so I decided to cancel the upgrade — the staff was very understanding about it. The breakfast was good, and the hotel is conveniently located right in the center of the walking street. There’s also a spa inside the hotel. It was quite crowded during check-in time, and it would be better if the staff helped manage the queue, as some guests were cutting in line while no staff seemed to notice or intervene.

The rooms were clean and tidy, and access was very convenient, being only 100 meters from the subway station. What deserves the most praise is that we received complimentary breakfast for two rooms for two nights upon check-in, and the breakfast selection was varied. When we realized we had left a women's baseball cap after checking out, we contacted the front desk. The helpful staff member actively searched for it and even offered to mail it back to us. Shangri-La Hotel, Chengdu (Taikoo Li branch) - A fantastic stay! My stay here was absolutely perfect! The hotel boasts an amazing view of the Jinjiang River, allowing you to enjoy the river scenery and the beautiful night lights of Anshun Bridge right from your window. It's also a convenient 15-minute walk to Taikoo Li, making dining and shopping incredibly easy. As an established five-star hotel, the quality is consistently high. The room was clean and spacious, and the L'Occitane toiletries added a touch of luxury. Daily housekeeping was thorough and thoughtful. The Sichuan cuisine at 'Shang Palace' was authentic and delicious, and the breakfast offered a wide variety of options. Very pretty heritage hotel with plenty of beautifully set up furniture and relax corners. My family and I enjoyed our stay here. The only drawback is the location that is further from city centre but worthy sacrifice. For those concerned with noise, note that the family suites are located on level 2 and might be subject to street noise. Our unit faces the gym and had several commotions at night, at times in the middle of the night.

I booked a standard room on the 11th floor for three nights. **The Good:** The bellhops were excellent, very attentive and quick to anticipate needs. The front desk staff were friendly and made check-in a pleasant experience with some engaging small talk. The hotel staff I contacted via WeChat beforehand responded instantly and provided timely assistance. Room cleaning was meticulous and prompt; I drink a lot of coffee, and they always replenished it without delay. The overall facilities felt new, and breakfast was superb. The gym was absolutely fantastic! The Smith machine was incredibly smooth, and there were three bench press stations. Towels and bottled water were provided on each machine. I did fasted strength training every morning, and almost every time I visited, I saw cleaning staff wiping down the equipment. They even had Pilates equipment. My workouts were high-quality every day. The location was very convenient, with direct access to a shopping mall from B1. I was there purely to enjoy the hotel, and dining and shopping were incredibly easy. **The Not-So-Good:** 1. For all three nights of our stay, we heard someone singing downstairs starting from the first evening. After raising this with the hotel, we found out it was a street performer with a large speaker, who only stopped around 10:30 PM. After my initial feedback, I expressed hope that this wouldn't happen again the next day. The hotel even sent a fruit platter as an apology. However, the singing started again promptly at 8 PM the following day. That evening, the hotel offered us a room change, but it was quite late, and we were genuinely tired, so we just put up with it. I understand that the hotel can't control what people do outside on the street, and they are somewhat helpless in this situation. However, as a guest paying over 1,000 RMB per night, having to endure this unavoidable noise was truly frustrating. 2. On our last night, my mom was bitten by bed bugs. She killed the bug and showed it to the staff. I also believe that ”sh*t happens” and it's a low-probability, unavoidable incident. But it's genuinely something that shouldn't occur at a hotel of W's caliber. The hotel staff addressed it immediately, and in the end, they gave us two panda plush toys (which just made us laugh). **In summary:** I really liked this hotel overall, and it's truly a pity about these issues.

I got an upgraded room, which even came with books, a variety of teas (green, black, and pu-erh, both the black and pu-erh were excellent), tea sets, and heating. The experience was so good that I decided to extend my stay. During a 'special time,' I accidentally stained the sheets. When I returned to my room after being out, I found they had been silently replaced – that was a truly thoughtful touch. The only minor issue is that the soundproofing isn't the best. When the robots are delivering items, the uneven floor makes a bit of noise, but it didn't really impact my overall stay. If you're a light sleeper, you might want to request a room further inside; I had one close to the elevator.

I'm usually quite lazy and rarely leave reviews for hotels, but this place genuinely impressed me. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. When we mentioned we were tourists, they immediately offered a brochure detailing various sightseeing routes, which we found very helpful (we even snapped a photo!). As it was our first time in Chengdu, we were unsure where to eat, and they enthusiastically recommended some fantastic local eateries; the food they suggested was indeed delicious. With all the nearby *chuanchuan* (Sichuan skewers), Sichuan cuisine, and hotpot, we came back to the hotel one evening smelling distinctly of hotpot. Wanting to get some early rest, we asked the front desk if they could help dry our clothes and return them to our room the next morning. They agreed without a moment's hesitation, which was incredibly thoughtful and considerate. The breakfast at the hotel restaurant was also delicious, especially the *chaoshou* (Sichuan wontons). The staff in the restaurant were very attentive and provided great service too. Our initial reason for booking this hotel was its geographical location, and it truly lived up to our expectations. It's perfectly situated, very close to all the major attractions such as Du Fu Thatched Cottage, Kuanzhai Alley, Wenshu Monastery, Wuhou Shrine, Jinli Ancient Street, and more. Overall, it was an extremely satisfying travel experience. Chengdu, with its vibrant city atmosphere and rich cultural environment, left a wonderful impression on us.
