I had a great stay at the Dorsett! The general manager was incredibly helpful and even added me on WeChat, allowing me to message easily about any requirements. There is a free to use laundromat on the 4th floor, which was super convenient. The only downside was the area around the hotel, which is a bit rundown and there was loud construction noises at times. I also ordered food service and the burger wasn’t very nice. The room was lovely though!

My stay at Crowne Plaza Chengdu was defined by 'convenience and professionalism.' The hotel is ideally located in the heart of Chunxi Road, offering excellent transport links. You're right in the bustling commercial district the moment you step out, making it incredibly time-efficient whether you're shopping, dining, or visiting attractions. A special shout-out to the housekeeping staff; not only did they neatly arrange my personal toiletries in the bathroom, but they also noticed we had a child and proactively provided extra bottled water. This thoughtful gesture was truly touching. From check-in to every request, the staff were warm and efficient. The room itself was clean and comfortable, which I was very pleased with!

Highly Recommended I would like to express my sincere appreciation for this hotel apartment.   First, the room itself exceeded my expectations. The entire apartment is exceptionally well-maintained, with hardly any dust in the living area or bedroom. The wardrobe is cleverly designed with multiple compartments, making it very practical for organising luggage. The bed is clean, and the mattress offers just the right balance of softness and support. For the first time in an unfamiliar place, I slept soundly through the night — largely because the room is completely silent, with no distracting noise at all. The in-unit washer and dryer were a game changer, allowing us to have fresh clothes every day.   Second, the location is superb. The surrounding area is filled with small local eateries serving delicious breakfast options such as youtiao (fried dough sticks), congee, soy milk, and vegetable-meat buns. There are also barbecue skewer shops and hotpot restaurants. Tao De Casserole is just a ten-minute walk away. Moreover, the hotel apartment is directly connected to a duty-free mall and several upscale restaurants, so we enjoyed a wide variety of cuisines within just a few days — incredibly convenient for families with children. After shopping on *******, a delivery robot would bring our items to the room in under 15 minutes; the speed was truly astonishing.   Finally, I must praise the staff. When a technician came to fix the TV remote, he put on shoe covers before entering — a level of hygiene awareness that surpassed what I have experienced in hotels in Hangzhou, Shanghai, Xi’an, Zhuhai, and Shenzhen. A special thank you to Tina at the front desk. She proactively helped us contact the Sichuan opera theatre across the street, arranged ticket booking, and secured excellent seats for Saturday’s performance. She also recommended local restaurants and reminded us to make reservations, which made dining out effortless. She always responded promptly on WeChat, making us feel truly cared for. The housekeeping ladies who brought extra bottled water and towels were all warm and smiling, leaving me with a deeply positive and unforgettable impression of the people of Chengdu.   In summary, this hotel apartment excels in room quality, location, and service. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Extremely satisfied with my stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Chengdu R&F. As always, the service was excellent. I stayed in room 3910 on the Executive Club Level, originally for 2 nights, and then extended for another 2 nights in the same room. From Stephen's warm welcome at the front desk during check-in, to the meals at the Executive Lounge on the 38th floor, and even the late-night room service order I placed myself – I was truly impressed with Ritz's 24-hour in-room dining. The abalone braised pork was exquisite, the M3 Angus steak was incredibly fragrant, and I absolutely loved the fish maw and lobster wonton. The chef's culinary skills are truly exceptional! The Executive Club Level breakfast doesn't close until 11 AM, which was perfect for me while on vacation. Marriott's management is excellent. I frequently stay at IHG InterContinental Executive Lounges, but for this free-and-easy trip to Western Sichuan, I opted for all Ritz-Carlton hotels: The Ritz-Carlton, Chengdu R&F, and The Ritz-Carlton, Jiuzhaigou. Loved them!

Chunxi Road Commercial Area Chengdu|0.89km from city center
First off, I have to commend how my booking was handled – they clearly read my notes, and the room arrangement was perfect! I was a bit worried when I booked, seeing some reviews about the hotel being older, fearing it might be dated. But honestly, as soon as I saw the room, all those concerns vanished. The hotel is incredibly well-maintained, even better than the photos. As they say, an old Ferrari is still a Ferrari! My overall stay was fantastic. The room was spacious, the bedding was excellent, ensuring a great night's sleep. The toiletries were top-notch, smelled lovely, and worked wonderfully. Every little detail showed care. The high floor offered fantastic panoramic views through the floor-to-ceiling windows, and everything was spotless. The location is excellent – quiet yet central. The butler service was outstanding, available 24/7, with quick and friendly responses. The 24-hour complimentary drinks and snacks were a thoughtful touch and of good quality. The housekeeping staff noticed we were drinking tea and proactively left extra bottles of water during cleaning, which was very thorough – thumbs up! There are plenty of great dining options nearby. If I had to pick a flaw, it's that the shampoo and other bottles in the shower were a bit too close together, making them hard to press, but that's a minor point. The 6:30 PM sabrage champagne ritual added a nice touch of ceremony. I'll definitely stay here again next time, and for more than just one night!

Our stay here truly exceeded expectations! The hotel staff were incredibly warm and friendly, offering meticulous and thoughtful service. Our room was modern and elegant, with a minimalist design that still felt high-quality. The breakfast was a fantastic mix of Western and Chinese options; the Western selection of pastries, breads, coffee, and juice was particularly impressive and perfect for anyone with a preference for Western food. The location is another huge plus – it's close to the subway station and convenience stores, and within walking distance of a major shopping district, making it super convenient for getting around and shopping. Highly recommend!

Yulin Life Plaza and Tongzilin commercial area Chengdu|4.31km from city center
The hotel is well-maintained overall. The Hansgrohe shower, high-quality toothbrush and razor, and Zhuomaquan bottled water all reflect the hotel's commitment to quality. The double-height, constant-temperature swimming pool also deserves a special mention. Its location right next to the subway station and across from Yulin Road is also quite convenient. This time, I felt the service was even more heartwarming. Although I booked through a third party and couldn't enjoy member benefits, the front desk小姐姐 (a polite way to refer to a young female staff member) proactively upgraded my room and gave me a fruit platter. When I returned in the evening, I found that turn-down service had been provided – my first time experiencing it! Overall, it's a great choice offering both value for money and quality.

Great location if you plan to shop in Chengdu. Walking distance to a bunch of malls and shops. From bargains to high-end goods you’re bound to get your shopping fill. The same with cafes and restaurants. You won’t run out of options. The hotel is good. Spacious rooms and big bathroom. The AC in my room was noisy though. The outdoor western restaurant was closed during my stay. Missed out on trying that one. Overall a great stay. Highly recommended.

I booked this hotel for my trip, and the location is fantastic – right in the city center with tons of dining options nearby. There's even a decent hotpot place right by the subway entrance. The staff here are incredibly thoughtful and responsible. As someone new to the area, they were always ready to answer any questions I had, making for a truly wonderful experience. The rooms are spotlessly clean. It was really heartwarming to be greeted so warmly by the cleaning staff in the hallway every time – it genuinely felt like a home away from home. The front desk team was also incredibly thoughtful. They even offer a laundry service, washing and drying clothes if you're too busy sightseeing, and folded everything neatly in a basket – a truly thoughtful touch. There's also complimentary self-service freshly ground coffee in the lobby, and a cup before heading out in the morning is just what you need to feel refreshed. All in all, I had a very comfortable stay, and I'll definitely choose this hotel again on my next visit to Chengdu.

FAQs about Chengdu restaurants

  • What type of cuisine can I expect in Chengdu restaurants?

Chengdu is famous for its Szechuan cuisine, known for bold flavors, particularly spicy and numbing dishes. You'll find plenty of hotpot, kung pao chicken, mapo tofu, dan dan noodles, and other signature dishes. Additionally, Chengdu has a variety of other dining options, including Cantonese, Western-style, and local street food.
  • Where are the best areas to eat in Chengdu?

The top areas to explore for food in Chengdu include: Kuanzhai Alley: A historic street with a mix of traditional Sichuan food and modern eateries. Chunxi Road: The bustling heart of Chengdu, where you'll find numerous restaurants, cafes, and street food stalls. Jinli Ancient Street: A popular area for tourists to try traditional snacks and local flavors. Wuhou Temple Area: Famous for local delicacies and authentic Sichuan hotpot restaurants.
  • Are there vegetarian options in Chengdu restaurants?

Yes, many Chengdu restaurants offer vegetarian-friendly options, especially with tofu, vegetables, and noodles. While Sichuan cuisine is known for its bold spices, you can usually find mild or vegetarian versions of many dishes, such as vegetarian hotpot and mapo tofu without meat.
