We stayed at the Hotel Dorsett, and overall it was a pretty positive experience, with a few small things to note. The best parts: The room is very spacious, and the bathroom is super large, with both a bathtub and a shower. The bed is comfortable – though a little firm, and you can feel movement when the other person moves. The curtains, lights, and USB chargers are a great, convenient touch. Breakfast is good, especially for Asian tastes – Western options are limited, but what they have is tasty. The location is fantastic: the metro is just 50 meters away, right at the doorstep. The area is nice and recommended. There was some construction nearby, but it didn't bother us at all. Could be improved: The only real negative point is the elevator – it takes quite a while. Bottom line: Highly recommended for the space, cleanliness, and location. If you don't mind waiting a bit for the elevator or a slightly firm bed, everything else more than makes up for it.

This is an established luxury hotel with excellent facilities and services across the board. The decor, with its abundance of marble and wood, exudes old-money charm. We were upgraded to a view room on the 37th floor, and the panoramic views were fantastic. Upon entering the room, there's a separate walk-in closet, and the bathroom is exceptionally large, equipped with a Nespresso machine. Breakfast was very extensive, and even the coffee came with latte art. Facilities like the swimming pool and spa were clean and comfortable. A butler was assigned to us after booking, and the staff we encountered at the front desk and in the lobby were all very polite. I'd also like to commend Trip.com; they were highly efficient and quickly resolved a booking issue I had.

My stay at The St. Regis Chengdu was a fantastic experience. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to the St. Regis Suite. The suite was incredibly spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable…a true home away from home. The breakfast spread was excellent, with a great variety of quality options. The highlight for me was the dinner seafood buffet, the spread was really impressive and the addition of hotpot made it even more special. Absolutely delicious. Service throughout the hotel was outstanding. From the warm welcome at check-in to the seamless check-out, every staff member we encountered was attentive and professional. Gym team who took the time to walk us through the facilities personally was a small gesture that made a big difference. Highly recommend The St. Regis Chengdu for anyone looking for luxury, comfort and genuine hospitality.

This was my first stay at a Kempinski hotel. Upon entering the lobby, it felt a bit dim and cramped. The room had an industrial grey theme, likely due to a recent renovation, and the quality of the refurbishment was excellent. After one night, I grew to love the hotel's extra-large, slightly firm bed. The breakfast restaurant exuded an old-school luxury vibe, and the food quality was highly commendable. I also tried the pool in the morning and was even more impressed – perfect for both kids and adults (three small, one large pool). The water quality, temperature, and changing rooms were all perfect. The pool attendant and the doorman were exceptionally professional. Many thanks to them!

We stayed for two nights in a suite at the Hyatt Regency Chengdu (the review mistakenly says Chongqing), and since we were on vacation, we really indulged in food and drinks – a big thanks to the housekeeping staff! The dining table in the suite was large and very convenient, and the staff were incredibly patient, bringing us plates and glasses whenever we needed them. The living room was also super spacious. The hotel's overall design is simple yet refined, blending modernity with comfort. Every detail showcased quality and thoughtfulness. The bedding, in particular, was exceptionally comfortable; we slept wonderfully and didn't want to leave. I've stayed in many five-star hotels, but this one definitely has the most comfortable bedding. We were on a high floor, room 3336, which offered panoramic views of the bustling city. The view was expansive during the day and dazzling at night, truly invigorating. The hotel's location is excellent, making shopping and dining incredibly convenient. What's even more commendable is the hotel staff's warm and professional service; their attention to detail made us feel right at home from check-in to check-out. I will definitely choose to stay here again on my next trip to Chengdu!

Excellent location! It is only a short walk to the IFS building. The area around the hotel is full of shopping malls, restaurants, and plenty of food options, making it very convenient for travelers. The room was spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The hotel also has a good security system, which made me feel safe during my stay. Housekeeping cleaned the room every day and provided 3 complimentary soft drinks and 4 bottles of water daily, which was a nice touch. Overall, I had a very comfortable stay and enjoyed all the facilities and conveniences nearby. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip. one of the smoothest hotel experiences i've had in china; it's family-owned and the staff are warm and friendly! we received a room upgrade free of charge upon arrival an our room was clean, modern, spacious, and quiet. there's free coffee and mini snacks on the 4th floor, along with a self-serve free laundry (wash + dry combined) and microwave. the only downside is that the gym is +40rmb per person, but i found the facility to be run-down, dirty, and with some broken machines. overall a very positive experience. we rebooked sungold hotel again after we return from our trip to jiuzhaigou (九寨沟)!

The hotel's interior design truly impressed me, from the lobby to the intricate details in the rooms, everything exuded quality. The staff's responsiveness and professionalism were also top-notch, fully meeting the expectations of a five-star establishment. However, since the hotel is quite old, despite evident renovations, some of the hardware still showed signs of age. Minor issues, like a sticky shower door, slightly impacted the overall experience. Regrettably, the surrounding area was a bit noisy. The bars downstairs were mostly pubs, lively but lacking a quiet whiskey bar where one could enjoy a peaceful drink.

True to what I've seen on Xiaohongshu (a Chinese social media platform), the entire hotel exudes a beauty reminiscent of an era of economic prosperity. Back in 2015, Wanda Group was at its peak, and Wanda Reign was clearly aiming to compete with luxury brands like Ritz-Carlton and St. Regis. It's a shame that Wanda has since faced significant setbacks, and only three Wanda Reign hotels remain in China. However, from the hotel's grand lobby and public areas to the room corridors and even the interiors of the rooms themselves, you can still see the no-expense-spared foundation from its heyday. Various marbles, granites, and white jades are exquisitely inlaid throughout, and the enormous crystal chandelier and jade carvings in the lobby are truly breathtaking. The hotel's breakfast quality is also top-notch; the live cooking stations for noodle toppings are the best I've ever experienced in any hotel. Although the hotel has gradually aged with Wanda's decline, it still stands as one of Chengdu's most worthwhile choices for an upscale stay.

An Electric Stay with Exceptional Service! Rating: ★★★★★ We just wrapped up a week-long stay at the W Chengdu, and it was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment we arrived, the ”Whatever/Whenever” philosophy was on full display. The Welcome Experience A huge shoutout to Dylan at the reception! He gave us a fantastic introduction to the property and kicked our trip off on a high note by upgrading us to a room on the 20th floor. His warm welcome and professional energy set the tone for the entire week. The Room The room was a sanctuary. Despite facing a busy street, the soundproofing was incredible—it was super quiet and peaceful. • The Sleep: The bed, pillows, and linens were top-tier. I haven't slept that well in a long time. • The Vibe: Modern, clean, and perfectly equipped. Wellness & Amenities As someone who prioritizes fitness while traveling, I was thoroughly impressed by the gym, swimming pool, and sauna. Everything is state-of-the-art. One small suggestion: The sauna experience would be even more relaxing if the lighting could be dimmed slightly to create a more ”zen” atmosphere. Dining Don’t miss the lunch buffet on the 3rd floor. The food quality was outstanding, but the decor and the view really steal the show. It’s a feast for the eyes as much as the palate! Bottom line: We are already looking forward to our next trip to Chengdu—we wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else. See you again soon, W! A quick tip for your next visit: Since you enjoyed the 20th-floor view, you might want to ask Dylan or the concierge about the ”Extreme WOW” suite layout next time—they sometimes let guests take a peek if it’s unoccupied, and the design is legendary!

A very satisfying stay! We brought our child to Chengdu for a trip, and the front desk staff proactively offered children's toiletries and slippers, and also had the bellhop help me with my luggage to the room. The room itself wasn't very big, especially compared to hotels built in recent years, but thankfully, it was very clean. We accidentally left our child's toy in the room when we checked out, but thankfully, the front desk called us in time, and we hadn't gone far yet.

The hotel is near Chunxi Road, just a short walk away, which is quite convenient. It's also about a ten-minute walk to the subway station. There was some renovation happening at the hotel entrance, but I didn't really hear any noise. I got a room upgrade when I checked in. There's a laundry room with dryers next to the elevator, which is very handy. Daily housekeeping was also prompt. This Home Inn I booked for my trip to Chengdu was easily the best I've ever stayed at; the experience was truly fantastic. The moment I stepped in, I was greeted by a lovely fragrance, which was incredibly pleasant. The front desk staff were also very warm and attentive during check-in, always greeting guests with a smile. Their service was impeccable – always available but never intrusive. The hotel's overall decor has a distinctly British feel, and both the staff's attire and the interior design were excellent. The environment is quiet despite being in a bustling area; the whole place felt very peaceful. The hotel breakfast was quite good, offering local Chengdu specialties like 'xiaomian' (noodles), 'chaoshou' (wontons), and 'douhua' (tofu pudding). The cleaning staff were also very friendly; the 'auntie' cleaning our room even brought us extra bottles of water when tidying our room during our extended stay. The hotel is conveniently located in the city center near Xinnanmen Metro Station, just a 150m walk away. Having the metro so close made getting around and visiting attractions incredibly easy. Chunxi Road is just one metro stop away, and popular spots like Kuanzhai Alley and Wenshu Monastery are also easily accessible. There are plenty of dining options nearby, including 'chuan'er' (skewer) and hot pot restaurants. Just a short walk down University Road, you'll find even more local snacks. This place is truly excellent, the price is reasonable, and it exceeded all my expectations. It's a fantastic base for exploring Chengdu – highly recommended!
